In the 2019 National Software Testing Competition Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, JNU students won 12 national awards, including two first prizes, four second prizes and three third prizes.
Zhong Xiaojian, a junior majoring in network engineering, won first prize in the Tencent Man-Machine Debug Testing category. Wang Zefan, also a junior in network engineering, won first prize in Embedded Testing. Sun Yuxia, a teacher in the Computer Science Department, was named National Excellent Instructor and National Excellent Organizing Teacher.

The competition attracted tens of thousands of students from more than 300 colleges and universities across the country. The contestants entered the national finals after preliminary competition online and offline, followed by the provincial competition.
Since August, JNU's College of Information Science and Technology has been organizing students to compete, and the participants had been preparing for several months. In the finals of the National Software Test Competition for College Students on Nov. 2 and 3, 11 JNU students qualified for the national finals.
The National Software Test Competition for College Students is a highest-level national software test competition. It is jointly held by the Ministry of Education's Software Engineering Professional Teaching Steering Committee, the China Software Evaluation Organization Alliance, and the China Computer Society's professional committees on software engineering, system software and fault-tolerant computing.
