The finals of the 2019 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for overseas Chinese students and those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan kicked off at JNU on Nov 24. With the theme pursuing the dream of a new era, creating and enjoying the Greater Bay Area, the competition was divided into the Wuzhou Students Cultural and Creative Design track and the JNU Entrepreneurship track, attracting nearly 1,000 participants on 150 teams. After more than two months of competition, four teams on the Wuzhou track and eight in the JNU entrepreneurship track were shortlisted for the finals.
Three projects won first prizes.The Cellar Miners Team developed Keystone, a key public management system based on blockchain cryptography, to provide information security services for enterprises and individuals. The Tidy Car Service Team adopted a seven-step air purification process to form a systematic, comprehensive and data-driven air purification service system for cars. The Jiqing Environmental Protection Team devoted itself to professional aquaculture water treatment by combining new three-dimensional electrode technology with electrochemical reaction characteristics.

Two projects won first prizes in the Wuzhou Students Cultural Creative Design Competition. The Little Whale Team designed the Dream of Whale Series of cultural and creative works, combining cultural and creative design with JNU's century-long history, classic Chinese traditional culture and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Tianhe's enthusiastic citizen team's cultural innovation integrates Chinese traditional culture and the spirit of the nation into trendy modern elements, designing comfortable and fashionable canvas shoes with Chinese style.

After the competition came the signing ceremony for the joint construction of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base of Jinan University. The five units participating in the contract are Zhongchuanghui 520 Information Harbor Zhongchuang Space, Tongchuang Huichuang Space, Bi + Cultural Industry Park, Dedao Maker Town, and Zhongchuang No. 5 Space. The competition also issued letters of appointment to innovative entrepreneurship mentors and presented awards to outstanding organization units and winning teams.
