The trailer for the documentary The Heritage of Lingnan Culture, made by JNU's Arts College, was released during the Guangdong Bureau of Education's exchange activity of reform and development in arts education in primary and secondary schools on Nov. 8.
The trailer explores the traditional arts and culture in Guangdong and shows typical cases of passing on these arts and culture through schools'arts education, fully combining these fine arts with modern life.
With images of the old, middle and young generations, the trailer presents the essence of Lingnan culture, including Cantonese opera, Yue embroidery, Nanshi (lion dance) and Nanquan (a South-China boxing style) to highlight the documentary's theme and style. All three generations' movements and words reflect the intergenerational inheritance of Chinese cultures.
The Guangdong Education Department, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles jointly planned the documentary. The camera crew will select applicable materials from nearly 300 projects submitted from all over Guangdong and conduct interviews and surveys. The film is to be completed early next year.
