The colorful performances on the small stage at the launching ceremony brought audio-visual enjoyment, while the parade of Han Chinese clothing around the stage added atmosphere. The food court served rice-wine sweet balls, plum syrup, fried chop rice cakes, coconut milk jelly and other delicacies from all over the country.
Luo Yinying, a Hong Kong student in the School of Public Administration and Emergency Management, considers the Chinese Cultural Festival a wonderful platform for a deep understanding of Chinese culture. With its history games, parades with Chinese cultural characteristics and traditional food, the festival offers an interesting way to get closer to the charm of Chinese culture, said Luo.
Liu Conghao, a Chinese-Canadian in the School of Journalism and Communication, said: “At the festival, I'm impressed by students' patriotism. We, the young generation, should learn excellent Chinese traditional culture and spread it to the world.”
