The 2019 Yimiao plan, a volunteer service competition in Guangdong, started in August. After several assessments, including public appraisal and onsite selection, seven JNU projects were selected, the highest total on record.
Selected as provincial key projects were the Zhuhai campus's philanthropic project Online Support Education; Twinkling Star, the School of Management's project for care of autistic children; and Grow Up in Flower City from the College of Chinese Language and Culture. View the World According to Law and Refuse Drugs from the Law School and Guangxi Tianyang Student Project from the JNU Youth Volunteers Association were selected as continuing support projects. The International School's social practice project Travel Together, Meet in Shaoguan and the College of Science and Engineering's Investigation and Knowledge Dissemination of the Food Safety Status of Dashi Town, Ruyuan County were chosen as outstanding projects of the New Era Civilization Practice Special Competition.
The Yimiao plan is a provincial competition for volunteer service projects, jointly carried out by many departments, including the Guangdong Communist Youth League and the Culture Affairs Office. More than 20 JNU projects have been selected since its inception 2014, receiving total of nearly 400,000 yuan in funding.
