The Third IEEE International Software Testing Contest at QRS 2019 was held at Sofia University in Bulgaria from July 22 to 26 Two JNU students won third prizes: Wu Kaisheng ranked fourth and Chen Shengyin, seventh.

The contest's sponsors included the IEEE Reliability Society and the IEEE International Conference on Software Quality, Reliability and Security. To qualify, participants had to go through many tests.
Wu, Chen and Ye Shenghao, all undergraduates in the 2016 class in the School of Information's Department of Computer Science, eventually qualified, having scored well in both the Guangdong and national finals of the 2018 National Student Contest of Software Testing. For six months after qualifying, they earnestly prepared for it under the guidance of Sun Yuxia, associate professor of computer science. They joined the monthly Developer Testing Competition in the MOOCTEST platform and practiced many test questions in the ACM SIGSOFT International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA 2019). On July 21, they left for Bulgaria.

More than 50 competitors from different universities around the world participated. Only the top seven contestants were eligible for first, second and third prizes.
