Dr. Lu Huihui's team from JNU and Prof. Thierry Grosjean`s group from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) have published their new findings in Light: Science & Applications, a journal of Nature. The research, published under the title Subwavelength polarization optics via individual and coupled helical traveling-wave nanoantennas, managed to regulate and control light polarization in spiral traveling wave wires and their array by making full use of the interaction between surface plasma and optical spin orbit. The ultra-compact device structure used in Lu's experiment is smaller than the working wavelength size, and has great pragmatic value in display, single-pixel polarization control, data storage, microscopy and sensing..
In 2018, Lu's group and the French Academy of Sciences published an important cooperative research achievement titled Optical field regulation of magnetic spin-orbit coupling based on Bloch surface light wave in the same journal. To date, they have co-published seven papers, and they plan to deepen cooperation on such topics as the electro-optic modulation and detection in a weak electric field, nano-antenna and the light field regulation of surface light wave.
