JNU held its 10th Chinese-Foreign Cooperation Annual Conference in Running Schools at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on June 24 and 25. JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng spoke at the opening ceremony. President Song Xianzhong delivered a conference report, and Vice President Zhang Hong also attended the opening ceremony. Pu Ruoqian, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, hosted the closing ceremony.
With the theme of “Accelerating and Expanding Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools Under the New Situation of Education and Opening-Up,” the conference welcomed nearly 800 representatives from 27 provinces, municipalities and districts. In the in-depth sub-forums, representatives exchanged ideas on core issues such as Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools; the deepening opening-up of education; Double First-Rate construction; Belt and Road construction; ideological and political education on Party-building; and the construction of a teaching system for Chinese-foreign cooperative education. Invited representatives from domestically recognized Chinese-foreign cooperative universities, including New York University Shanghai, Duke Kunshan University and Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, also shared the challenges, development paths and future prospects of their cooperative education.
The conference was supported by the Ministry of Education's Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of, and co-sponsored by Xiamen University’s Center for Research on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, the Guangdong Department of Education and the China Association of Higher Education’s Branch in Running Schools of. Guan Peijun, vice president of the China Association of Higher Education; Zhu Chaohua, deputy director of the Guangdong Department of Education, and representatives of the Ministry of Education's Chinese and foreign cultural exchange centers attended the opening ceremony and spoke.
Lin Rupeng said JNU, taking Double First-Rate and High-Level University constructions as the core, actively carried out foreign exchanges and cooperation; attached importance to Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools; and strengthened the country's “Belt and Road” construction and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area strategy with foreign cooperative education power; introduced high-quality educational resources and enhanced the school's overall academic strength. At the same time, JNU continuously deepened in the humanities and promoted cultural exchanges and complementary educational advantages.

Reporting on the theme of JNU's Way to Explore Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools to Improve Quality and Efficiency,” Song reviewed the development path of Chinese and foreign talents in personnel training and management since the establishment of the Jinan University–University of Birmingham Joint Institute at Jinan University. Adhering to the concept of talent cultivation by complementing each other's advantages, the Joint Institute developed a three-dimensional development path of multi-integration. It also carried out comprehensive, in-depth design innovation in curriculum, content and system that set a good example for interdisciplinary talent training and JNU's international school-running in the new era.
