The JNU Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Non-Heritage Sports Research Center was established during the First Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Sports Intangible Cultural Heritages Protection and Communication Seminar, which kicked off at the JNU Stadium on July 6.

JNU President Song Xianzhong and Zhang Ruilin, president of Jilin Sports University and director of the Jilin Sports Department, attended, along with other experts and scholars.
Jointly hosted by JNU's College of Physical Education and Macao Research Institute, this seminar, a driving force for interdisciplinary research and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aimed to enhance cooperation and communication with experts and scholars and to push forward related research.
As the highest institution for overseas Chinese, JNU has the responsibility, obligation and ability to help Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao protect and spread the intangible cultural heritage of sports, Song said in his speech.
Zhang evaluated the vigorous development of JNU's physical education highly in the last few years and encouraged JNU to further develop physical education into an internationalized discipline, since JNU is known as a school for overseas Chinese and is in the geographically advantageous Greater Bay Area.
Afterward, Zhang, Song and other school leaders jointly launched the JNU Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Sports Non-Heritage Research Center.
After the launch ceremony, five thematic reports were given: Research on the Development of Winter Sports in China, "rotection and Inheritance of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Sports Non-Heritages, Protection, Inheritance and Exchange of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts in Hong Kong and Macao, From Looking On to Experiential Participating: The Folk Culture Dissemination of 'Square Dragon' Designs and Monitoring and Assessment of Adolescent Physical Health in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

In the afternoon, a round-table discussion was held on the theme of Protection and Dissemination of Non-Material Cultural Heritage Sports in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, with attendees from Guangdong, Shandong, Jilin, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Shanxi and Anhui provinces.
