At the invitation of the Association of Korea Overseas Chinese for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification and the Association of Chinese Expatriates in South Korea, an 18-member dragon-lion dance team from JNU's Training Base of Chinese Talent and Art traveled to South Korea for an exchange visit from May 21st to May 25th.
The delegation, led by Xiang Li, head of JNU's Students Affairs Department, participated in a series of activities observing the Year of Chinese-ROK (Republic of Korea) Economic and Cultural Friendly Exchange in celebration of 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It also took part in many other performances and teaching in local schools for overseas Chinese. The delegation also exchanged views on carrying forward Chinese traditional culture with people from the Overseas Chinese Association and the community leaders of Incheon's Chinatown.

On May 24 and 25 the delegation participated in a series of activities including a birthday party for Confucius, given by overseas Chinese in South Korea, and a cultural parade on Zhonghua Street. The delegation's performances — a dragon-lion dance gathering overseas Chinese and a lion dance praising China—showed the charm of the art form to overseas Chinese there and South Koreans.
