Jinan University was among the schools that passed the National Professional Master's Degree in Accounting Education Quality Certification (Accreditation for Accounting Professional Education Quality, AAPEQ certification) in the 2019 national Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) teaching management conference at Xiamen National Accounting Institute on May 25. Other universities receiving certification were the University of International Business and Economics, the Xiamen National Accounting Institute, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Wuhan University and Ocean University of China. These universities now become certified members (Level A) of AAPEQ for five years. To date, 16 colleges and universities nationwide have become certified members (Level A) of AAPEQ.

In 2004, Jinan University became one of China's first MPAcc training units. In the last 10 years, it has cultivated more than 1,000 high-level accounting professionals. JNU formally applied for AAPEQ certification and entered the preparation stage in August 2016. Under the guidance of the AAPEQ certification advisory group, and with the support of the administrative department and the Department of Accounting, the master of accounting education center presented high-quality certification materials.
A committee of experts dispatched by the MPAcc Education Steering Committee (MPAcc ESC) made a field visit to JNU last November. The committee affirmed the advantages and characteristics of JNU graduate education in MPAcc. In addition, it highly praised the training model of integrating knowledge with action; the intensive cooperation of industries, enterprises and schools; the quality of teaching cases; and the integration of theory and practice in building the teaching staff. After deliberation and voting at the MPAcc ESC's plenary meeting of, JNU became a certified member (Level A) of AAPEQ.
