JNU students won one finalist award, 18 meritorious winner awards and 24 honorable mentions in the 34th Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) held in January 24 - 28.

More than 60,000 college students on 20,602 teams from 19 countries and regions, including the United States, China (the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), the United Kingdom, France, Japan and Canada, signed up for the competition.

Sponsored by Consortium for Mathematics and Its Application, MCM is the world's most influential mathematical modeling competition. It places great emphasis on students' creativity, cooperation and communication in problem-solving, as well as rationality of the results. It provides the teams with creative opportunities.
