JNU Associate Prof. Yang Guanghua, vice president of the Institute of the Internet of Things and Logistics Engineering, has been made a fellow of the British Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
As IET's highest academic honor, the title of fellow is awarded to outstanding scholars and professional technicians who have demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and leadership in global science and engineering technology and achieved significant achievements. Each year, no more than 300 new fellows are elected by IET worldwide, of which around 30 come from mainland China.

Yang has long been dedicated to scientific research and product research and development in wireless communication, the internet of things, and intelligent technology. In April 2017, he joined JNU as vice president of the Institute of the Internet of Things and Logistics Engineering. In the last two years, he has published 10 SCI papers, including seven research articles as first or corresponding author, with JNU as the unit, and an average impact factor per paper of 4.67. He has presided over five scientific research projects and participated in three projects as a core member, with total budgets of nearly 33 million yuan. They included hosting the national key R&D project, a special project of international innovative cooperation, the first JNU key special project jointly funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Macao government, and key R&D projects in Guangdong, a new generation of special subprojects for communication and networking. He was approved as a core member of the Team Project in the 2018 Guangzhou Innovation Leadership.
