The 2019 Nano-Biomedicine Frontier Development Forum hosted by JNU’s College of Chemistry and Materials Science was held on April 9 and 10. Co-chairs of the conference were Prof. Shuai Xintao of Sun Yat-Sen University; Prof. Zheng Hairong, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology; and Prof. Chen Tianfeng, associate dean of JNU's College of Chemistry and Materials Science.
Winners of China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists, experts and scholars were invited to participate in this academic forum. They came from well-known universities and research institutions including South China University of Technology, Sun Yat-Sen University, Southern University of Science and Technology, and the Shenzhen Institutes. JNU Vice President Zhang Hong attended, and Chen hosted the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zhang said that under the guidance of High-Level Universities and the Double First-Class Initiative, JNU's the chemistry and nano-biomedicine disciplines have developed rapidly. He said he hoped the conference would strengthen exchanges and cooperation between JNU and China’s nano-biomedicine industry, complementing each other's advantages and contributing to the development of nanomedicine discipline.
Experts shared their latest research findings in such cutting-edge fields as polyvalent nanobody; image visualization drug carrier; microfluidics and nano-biomaterials; basic and applied research of monomolecular diagnosis and treatment; multimodal molecular imaging; and accurate diagnosis and treatments. Chen reported the progress of his research on selenium nanomedicine and tumor immunotherapy.
