The 13th Win in Innovation competition, sponsored by Office of Academic Affairs and undertaken by College of Science and Engineering, kicked off on March 28. Seven selected projects entered the competition on JNU's Panyu campus.
During the competition, adhering to the concept of innovation, every team presented its project through PowerPoint display and on-site speech. The competition also adopted auxiliary means, including a -Q&A session with the audience and experts' comments, to further discussion of the projects. After fierce competition, Graphene All-Fiber Photoelectric Detector Enhanced by Carbon Nanotube was selected for the Best Project Award. Solar Sightseeing Car with Dual Front-Wheel Drive Based on Electronic Differential and Spectrometer with Online Precision Measurement for Alcohol Content were named Excellent Projects. Solar Air Purification-Heating-Water Boiling Composite System won the award as Most Popular Award in an audience poll.

The projects:
Graphene All-Fiber Photoelectric Detector Enhanced by Carbon Nanotube
A study of a new all-fiber wide-wavelength response photoelectric detector, which is made of graphene mixed film and enhanced by carbon nanotube., Deng Liangyu, a JNU student who presented the project, said: The responsiveness of this photoelectric detector has reached the international leading level, and it is very high in the ultra-low-power range of the near infrared band, which can make up for some weaknesses in China's optical research.

Based on Electronic Differential
Another JNU student, Chen Yixin, said this sightseeing car had been tested several times on Shi Pai campus and represented great innovations in function, quality and battery maintenance. This sightseeing car, totally powered by solar energy, is described as truly green, environmental-friendly and pollution-free.

Spectrometer with Online Precision Measurement for Alcohol Content
There is a gap in the market of spectrometers with online precision measurement for alcohol content. This start-up, founded by Zheng Zhuorui and his team, has already worked in cooperation with related alcohol manufacturers. This equipment is in its preliminary trial; the mature product will enter the market later. This equipment overshadows other similar products for its online real-time alcohol content with high precision, Zheng explained. Our product can adapt to different occasions. What's more, it is easy to carry and able to achieve manufacturing.”
