JNU held a kickoff meeting on March 27 for its human resources management program, which aims to match faculty members, positions and work. Attending the meeting were JNU President Song Xianzhong and Prof. Tang Kuang of Renmin University of China.

Song addressed the program's background, objectives, significance and related requirements. In recent years, JNU has made great progress in various undertakings, he said. It has been selected as a key university in Guangdong and listed in the Double First-Class University Plan.
Standing at a new starting point, he added, we must re-examine and replan the allocation of human resources with a vision of reform and innovation, and establish a more scientific, more standardized human resources management program.
Song instructed every unit to take such an important task seriously, make it clear and strengthen the cooperation to forge ahead with the human resources management program in accordance with the arrangement of Jinan University.
A working panel was set up for the program. During the meeting, the panel members shared lessons about human resources management taken from other universities. They also put forward the main working steps and introduced aspects that need support and coordination. After the meeting, the panel members organized an interview to set the program in motion.
Attending the meeting were roughly 100 people from units including JNU departments and schools, the campus management committee, affiliated units and institutes.
