Five JNU projects have been approved by the Ministry of Education in its evaluation of national virtual simulation experimental projects. JNU shares first place in China with Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University and Xi'an Jiaotong University. The five approved projects are all from the biomedicine subject group, a double first-class discipline at JNU. So far, six of JNU's 15 virtual simulation experimental teaching projects have been approved.
Students are conducting experiments with VR devices.
An overview of JNU's approved projects:
1.Virtual Experimental Project of Recombinant SOD2 Protein Pilot-Scale Preparation
The project in the College of Pharmacy enables students to operate in the virtual 3D pilot production workshop and master the technical points of inducible expression of recombinant SOD2 protein and pilot scale fermentation.
2. Virtual Simulation Project of Field Practice of Coastal Animals
The project, which applies virtual reality, 3D and other technologies, compensates for the limitations of experimental teaching caused by geographical, weather, economic and other factors. It enables students to experience the biodiversity of different coastal habitats immersively, and to grasp the classification and bio-community characteristics of coastal animals.
3. Simulation Training Project of Integrated Diagnosis and Treatment of Orthopedic Trauma
This project includes many virtual operations, such as urgent debridement, disinfection, draping and tendon suture in orthopedic trauma, avoiding the disadvantages of poor repeatability, low authenticity and high cost of physical experiments. It provides a platform for resident doctors who specialize in clinical medicine and standardized training to learn the basic practices of surgery.
4. Virtual Simulation Training Project of Clinical Skills in CPR in Children and Neonatal Resuscitation
This program simulates the actual scene of cardiopulmonary resuscitation inside and outside the hospital, including virtual simulation operation training, assessment, feedback-based learning and other functional modules. It has been selected as a clinical medicine project together with the orthopedic program, achieving a historical breakthrough in the national experimental teaching of clinical medicine.
5. Virtual Patient Experimental Project of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Standardized Diagnosis
In this project, the students collect case data and diagnose and treat virtual patients by means of four TCM methods of examination on a web page or mobile device, helping students' clinical thinking and practice in TCM.
