JNU has been approved to establish a Subcommittee 8 on Wear-Resistant Materials and Casting of the National Technical Committee 54 of the Foundry of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC54/SC8), according to Announcement Number 6 of 2018, issued by Standardization Administration of China. It was a critical breakthrough for JNU in the field of national technical standardization.
The committee incorporates the research strengths of 23 leading entities in the field, including JNU, the JNU Institute of Advanced Wear- and Corrosion-Resistant and Functional Materials (IWRM), the Anhui Mechanical Science Institute, Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. (Dexing branch), CITIC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and Beijing University of Technology. The secretariat is established at JNU; where Li Wei, president of IWRM, is chairman and JNU Prof. Tu Xiaohui secretary-general.
(Li giving a report)
In the last decade, the JNU Institute of Advanced Wear- and Corrosion-Resistant and Functional Materials has enacted and revised 10 national criteria and 5 machinery industry criteria in the wear-resistance and foundry fields. As a leading institution in industrial technologies, JNU has not only dominated the construction of the standardization system for the professional field of wear-resistant materials and castings in China, but also led the establishment of the national working group on standardization of wear-resistant materials in 2011.
