A delegation of the Macau Alumni Association and other 11 alumni branches, led by Ma Youheng, chairman of the JNU Alumni Association and president of the Alumni Association of Macau, visited the main campus on March 2 to discuss how to further support the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area. JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng, President Song Xianzhon and Vice President Hong An attended the symposium.
Lin described the university's development status in the last year and its outstanding achievements in research, alumni work, and construction of JNU as a high-level university and its Double First-Class discipline. To be deeply involved in the building of the Bay Area, he said, the university plans to expand enrollment from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and overseas, aiming to increase their proportion of the student body from 33% to 40% in three years.
Ma introduced the overall situation of the Macau alumni association, especially the Macau alumni volunteer team's outstanding contribution to Macau in the last year. Since Macau is one of the Bay Area's four core cities, he said, the Macau alumni association would seize this historic opportunity to work with alumni from the 11 cities in the cluster to participate actively in its construction.
Song said JNU's Zhuhai campus would become a bridge between the university and Macau, deepening a cooperative relationship with Hong Kong and Macau alumni to give full play to their intellectual support.
During the free exchange, representatives of Macau alumni association talked about the association's development and discussed ways to integrate it into the construction of the Bay Area in the future.
