Zhang Zhenjiang, dean of the school, noted in his speech that maintaining overseas interests has become more and more important, influencing international relations and China's foreign policies as many Chinese enterprises and citizens have gone global in recent years. In-depth discussions on Chinese overseas interest maintenance are of great practical significance, he said, and he encouraged participants to put forward new proposals and give useful opinions.
The seminar had two discussion topics: The Belt and Road and rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and citizens; and international and regional situations and interest maintenance for Chinese enterprises and citizens. Scholars expressed their ideas and opinions based on their own research fields.
At the end of the seminar, Chen gave a brief summary. He proposed that the seminar be institutionalized, an academic community be built, and discussions be held on right and interest maintenance for Chinese overseas enterprises and citizens. In addition, he encouraged the publication of relevant research results to serve society.
