Prof. Gong Qi, dean of JNU's College of Foreign Studies, was elected a member of the founding 17-member Talent Evaluation and University Teaching Promotion Committee at the general election meeting of Expert Committee of China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) in Beijing on Dec. 12. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the China International Publishing Group, with Min Yi, director of the personnel department and examination center, presiding. Liu Dawei, deputy head of the CATTI expert team, and Li Jinsheng, head of the Ministry's Professional and Technician Management Department, attended.
Liu reported the names of new members and acknowledged experts' contributions and achievements. He encouraged new members to be creative in talent appraisal methods and to develop the test system.

CATTI is a national professional qualification test administered by CIPG and authorized by the ministry. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including experts on English, French, Russian, German, Spanish and Arabic, as well as members of the CATTI examination center and the National Translation Test and Appraisal Center.
