A three-member delegation from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow visited JNU on Dec. 13th. It included Vice President Douglas Brodie; the president of its School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Dr. Huang Ning, director of the school's foreign English program. JNU Vice President Rao Min and representatives of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and the College of Foreign Studies met with the delegation.
The two sides held a special meeting on Sino-foreign cooperation programs in the College of Foreign Sudies. Prof. Cheng Qian, vice president of the college; Prof. Liang Ruiqing, head of the Department of Business English; Li Hong, director of the Office of Science Education; and Dr. Chen Wei, director of the business English department's intercultural business communication teaching and research, held talks with the delegation.

Cheng Qian said Brodie was an old friend of the college, having visited many times. The two universities have cooperated on multiple levels for many years, including the signing of intercollegiate exchange agreement and teacher and student exchanges.
Cheng said he hoped the talks could further advance the elaboration and implementation of the Sino-foreign joint school operation project between JNU's College of Foreign Studies and Strathclyde's College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Liang said the Department of Business English attached great importance to international cooperation and had set up a special teaching and research office to follow up. He then introduced the progress and the main existing problems of the cooperation project between JNU and Strathclyde.
Brodie said it was a great pleasure to visit JNU.
