A project of JNU's Shenzhen Tourism College won the championship in the seventh National College Student World Heritage Protection Proposal Competition on Nov. 25 at the Huaishitang Hall on the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University's Guangzhou campus. The winning project was the Danxia Three-Way Interactive Platform, a World Heritage Protection and Development Proposal by the college's team called Chasing the Xia.

The competition is guided by the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau Nature Reserve Management Department, the China Monuments and Sites Protection Association, and the World Conservation Union's China Representative Office. It is hosted by the School of Tourism and the Youth League Committee of Sun Yat-sen University. The theme of the competition was cross-border integration and innovation development. University students from all over China submitted 57 world heritage protection and development proposals to the competition. After the selection, the team Chasing the Xia entered the finals in fifth place. After facing the expert judges' questions in the finals, it received the unanimous favor of all the judges and won first prize.
