JNU has had close exchanges with QUT in recent years. After signing an academic cooperation agreement in 2016, the two universities started cooperating in environmental science research. The first QUT delegation visited JNU in April 2018, signing the Doctoral Students' Joint Training Agreement (DSJTA) and jointly inaugurating the JNU-QUT Associated Laboratory of Air Quality Science and Management, which substantially promoted academic exchange and joint cultivation of talents. The two schools are already jointly cultivating doctoral students under DSJTA.
