JNU Vice President Liu Jiesheng led a team to Shanghai University, Tongji University and Zhejiang University on a special mission from Sept. 25 to 27 to explore effective ways of constructing and managing multiple campuses.
The exploration was conducted mainly in the form of symposiums in which the two sides had in-depth exchanges on campus management mode, discipline distribution, personnel and financial management, and general logistics management. The three universities shared their own experience in multi-campus management.

Liu pointed out that JNU is now entering a crucial stage in building into a Double First-Class university and a high-level university. He also said JNU campuses should define purposes, innovate administration, optimize discipline layout and coordinate with one another. The three East China universities have long histories and much experience in multi-campus education, which is of great reference significance for the planning and construction of JNU campuses. Moreover, Liu emphasized that JNU should fully learn from the advanced experience of multi-campus education in universities outside Guangdong. The special working group on campus planning and construction should actively carry out seminars, he said, and each department should make clear the status quo of each campus to steadily advance campus planning and construction.
