To ensure the smooth enrollment of students with financial difficulties, JNU’s five campuses set up a Green Passage on Sept. 9. It provides worry-free admission services to students whose families have financial difficulties and accurately helps relieve those difficulties as required by the Ministry of Education. The channel precisely implements three worry-free policies and worry-free after entering the school. On registration day, 270 freshmen whose tuition totaled 2.16 million yuan completed admission procedures through the Green Channel.

This year, JNU has allocated 100,000 yuan to the “Green Passage” and received more than 30,000 yuan in corporate sponsorship. It has issued 45 sets of bedding, 230 sets of daily necessities, 275 sets of school supplies, 500 sets of promotional materials, subsidies of nearly 20,000 yuan for road tolls, more than 40,000 yuan for temporary difficulties and more than 500 subsidies.

After being identified as having financial difficulties, the freshmen may apply for campus loans, scholarships, work-study, tuition reduction and temporary hardship assistance. JNU has established a comprehensive funding system to ensure that students with financial difficulties have no worries about their academics and lives.
