JNU's Shenzhen Tourism College was approved as one of the first nine academic members of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) at its annual meeting in Hangzhou from Sep. 7 to 10.
By joining the WTA, Shenzhen Tourism College will strengthen its contacts and cooperation with universities, associations and departments of enterprises. With full use of this international platform, the college will speed its discipline construction and development of production, education and research, effectively promoting JNU's construction as a Double First-Class and high-level university.

In the global tourism sector, the WTA is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization initiated by China and established in September 2017. Following the vision of Better Tourism, Better Life, Better World, the WTA is committed to promoting tourism for peace, development and poverty reduction based on mutual trust, mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. The WTA and the United Nations World Tourism Organization will complement each other, serving as twin engines to drive international tourism exchanges and cooperation from the nongovernmental and the intergovernmental perspectives. Its 165 founding members include national tourism associations, influential tourism enterprises, academic institutes, cities and media from 36 countries and districts, with overseas members accounting for over 60%.
