The 13th Guangdong Undergraduate Computer Projects Competition and the Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Undergraduate Computer Projects Competition was held on June 10 at Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering in Guangzhou. The project titled Application of Artificial Intelligence in Smart Physical Education Class, by JNU College of Information Science and Technology (CIST) students Kang Peixiong, Huang Zishuo and Lai Zhenming (supervised by Lei Xiaolin of CIST) won first prize. Life Assistant and Service Platform on a Smart Campus, by CIST students Liu Mingyi, Cai Sihan, Gong Song Yulong, Liu Rurong, Wu Xingliu, Yang Mei and Feng Jiancheng (supervised by Long Jinyi of CIST) won third prize.
The competition was organized by the Computer Education Research Institute Across National Colleges and Universities and the Organizing Committee of the PPRD Undergraduate Computer Projects Competition. Its title sponsor was Guangzhou Sinobest Company. The competition displayed the teaching achievements of PPRD's computer major and strengthened mainland China's communication with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. It also promoted the educational quality of the computer major.
More than 50 teams and 100 competitors from over 10 colleges and universities in Guangdong, including Sun Yat-Sen University and South China University of Technology, participated.
