JNU has increased its offers of admission to applicants across the country. The intelligence science and technology major will admit its first students in September. After taking the National College Entrance Examination, students who studied science in high school and whose score ranked around 20,000 in Guangdong could select JNU, the Office of Undergraduate Admission announced on June 7.

JNU is a key comprehensive university listed in the 211 Project and jointly constructed by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Education and Guangdong Province. JNU will increase admission offers by 240 students from provinces across the country, including Guangdong, Anhui, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangsu, Hebei, Shanxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Guizhou and Zhejiang. JNU especially will increase admission offers by more than 50 students in Guangdong.
Intelligence science and technology is a new major in JNU's College of Information Science and Technology. Its mission is to educate talents with solid basic theory of intelligent science, engineering technology and thinking methods to use technical knowledge of artificial intelligence to solve practical problem in various disciplines.
Jinan-Birmingham Institute, a joint project with the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, will also increase its admissions offers and provinces. It will offer admission to 210 students, over 120 in previous year, in Anhui, Henan, Shandong and Neimeng provinces, in addition to the original admission provinces.
