Seventy-seven scientific and technological achievements by Jinan University were released at the second China University Scientific and Technological Achievement Fair (CUSTAF) in Huizhou, Guangdong, from May 24 to 27. More than 20 JNU experts and teachers took part in the fair. Specially decorated booths displayed major JNU scientific and technological achievements, including intelligent equipment, big data and communications, new materials, energy-saving, environmental protection, and artificial intelligence. During the fair, JNU conducted negotiations for cooperation with many companies and signed agreements totaling 7.9 million yuan.

The project titled The Research, Development and Industrial Applications of Manufacturing Technology of Energy-Saving and Anti-Abrasive Steel, by Prof. Li Wei of the Institute of Advanced Wear and Corrosion-Resistant and Functional Materials, was named the fair's Advanced Project. Bai Defa of the Office of Scientific Research and Development was named Advanced Individual.

More than 350 colleges and universities took part in the fair, including nearly 100 Double First-Class universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University. Over 10,000 university projects were collected and more than 8,200 project exhibits displayed at the fair. According to statistics, 239 colleges and universities reached cooperation agreements with 626 companies. Transactions involving 732 scientific and technological achievements, totaling 4.06 billion yuan, exceeded those at the last CUSTAF.
