Wang Wanming, chairman of Czech Silk Road Chamber of Commerce, headed an 11-member delegation from the University of West Bohemia (UWB), Tomas Bata University (TBU) and Charles University in Prague (CUP) that visited JNU on May 18.
Representatives of UWB's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Design and Art, Faculty of Applied Sciences and New Technologies Research Centre; TBU's Faculty of Management and Economics; and CUP introduced their development situations. They had an in-depth exchange of views with JNU representatives from relevant schools. The two sides reached the consensus that they would like to start by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.The next step is to come up with long-and short-term student exchange projects, projects for joint cultivation of postgraduates, and eventually substantial academic exchange and cooperation.
JNU Vice President Zhang Hong said JNU would step up cooperation with the Czech universities.

UWB, founded in 1991, is one of the most famous public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. It has nine faculties consisting of more than 60 departments and three institutes of higher education;more than 13,000 students, and more than 2,200 faculty and staff members.
TBU, founded in 2001, is named after world-famous shoe entrepreneur Tomáš Baťa. It has six faculties and more than 9,200 students.
Charles University, founded in 1348, is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic, as well as one of the oldest European universities. Currently ranked second among all universities in Central and Eastern Europe, it has 17 faculties and more than 50,000 students.
