To strengthen and promote communication between Guangzhou and Hong Kong teenagers, over 80 students from the Look at the World, Learn More About China, a career planning group of Hong Kong Lok Sin Tong subsidiary middle schools, visited JNU on April 3. The activity was organized by the Guangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (GFROC) and the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, Hong Kong (LSTBSK).
Participants included Fang Xiangdong, publicity and education department director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R Kowloon Office; Ba Shangqing, GFROC culture department director; Chen Dahua, LSTBSK executive vice president; and Zhuang Hanwen, secretary-general of JNU's Overseas Fraternity.
To help Hong Kong teachers and students better understand JNU, the Overseas Fraternity invited them to visit JNU landmarks, including the Hundred Years JNU monument, universal wall and library square.
The communication session was arranged for teachers and students to learn more about JNU's cultivation mode for students from Hong Kong and Macau and overseas Chinese students.
The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, founded in 1880, is among the regional volunteer groups with a long history of sponsoring education. Every year, it organizes student exchange groups to experience middle-school and university education in mainland China. This year's Hong Kong exchange members ranged age from 10 to 18.
