An online video symposium titled Thoughts About How to Promote Chinese Herbal Medicine Compound Preparation to the World was held by JNU's College of Pharmacy on March 9. The symposium was hosted by Prof. Yao Xinsheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, honorary dean of the College of Pharmacy and honorary director of the Research Laboratory of Chinese Medicine and Natural Drugs. Over 60 experts and scholars from China and abroad attended, some from Britain, the United States and Japan.

In the symposium, Yao reported on the history of Chinese traditional medicine, the importance of compound preparation, ways to promote it and issues requiring attention in the study of compound preparation.
JNU held the symposium using Zoom video conferencing software. A cloud conference was held for the academic report, and a WeChat group was developed for the following Chinese medicine discussions and project cooperation after the meeting, Yao said. Such cloud communications could not only save meeting cost but also solve scientific research problems of international scope more efficiently.
