JNU's Institute of the Internet of Things and Logistics Engineering has been selected as the governing unit of the China Defense Industry Association Military and Civil Convergence Industry Union, and its vice president, Guo Hongfei, was named director of the union.

The union, in which private enterprises may participate in the military market and military technology may be used by civilians, was established by the China National Defense Industry Enterprise Association with strong support from the National Development and Reform Commission, the State Administration of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense, and other military authorities.

It develops and serves military industry. It consists of military industry enterprises responsible for research, development and production in civil-military integration industry, scientific research institutes, superior private enterprises and service agencies. It adheres to the purpose of combining military industry with private enterprise and integrating their superior resources, driving both toward collaborative innovation to serve the military industry. In addition, it aims to improve the level, quality and competitiveness of the civil-military integration industry.

As the institute develops at high speed, joining the union will help it build and develop the industry-university-research platform. The institute will accelerate JNU's construction as a Double First-Class University by using the union's resources to strengthen international exchange and cooperation.
