For the first time, JNU's environment/ecology discipline has been included in the top 1% of the ESI Global Rankings, released on Jan. 12 by the American Essential Science Indicator database.
JNU now has eight disciplines in the ESI's top 1%. The other seven are clinical medicine, chemistry, engineering, pharmacology and toxicology, materials science, biology and biochemistry, and agricultural sciences.
In the last 11 years, JNU has published 8,772 ESI papers with 82,037 total citations, including 85 top papers and 84 highly cited papers. JNU entered the top 1% in terms of overall competitiveness, ranking 1167th among 5,701 scientific research institutions worldwide.
