JNU won six awards in the seventh Guangdong Universities Competition of Counselors' Professional Competencies, announced by the provincial Department of Education on Jan 7. Li Yimeng, a counselor in the College of Economics, was awarded a first prize and three individual awards for theme class meeting, case analysis and 10 best communication cases. Su Xiao, a counselor in the School of Environment, and Xu Dandan, a counselor in the College of Stomatology, were awarded third prizes.

This competition was hosted by the Guangdong Department of Education and organized by Dongguan University of Technology. Participating were 249 counselors from 129 universities in Guangdong. Ten first prizes, 50 second prizes, 100 third prizes and 50 individual prizes in five areas were awarded.
