The Guangzhou Ballet Company performed The Nutcracker at JNU Century Forum on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, attracting an audience of more than 3,000.

Huang Baimao, one of the stars of the performance, came to the JNU for the first time and said he hoped to leave a good impression on the students. Although the show lasted less than two hours, he said, the props and choreography had all been prepared six months ago. Declaring the performances a success, Huang also described The Nutcracker as a light entertainment and said the performance atmosphere at JNU was quite warm.

According to Xia Quan, head of the Liberal Education Office, the Guangzhou Ballet Company had performed Latecomer in the Snow and Coppelia at JNU many times and was warmly welcomed by the teachers and students. The purpose of the forum is to broaden our horizons, enlighten our spirits and enhance artistic sentiments, he said. We not only invite famous masters both at home and abroad to give high-level lectures here, but also encourage art groups to create a better cultural environment and to enrich everyone's extracurricular life.
