Prof. Feng Shuaizhang, dean of JNU's Institute for Economic and Social Research, has been named to two national talent projects: the Outstanding Cultural Person Talent Project and the “Four Talents as a Group” Talents Project. He was selected by the Publicity Department of the Community Party of China (CPC) on the recommendation of Jinan University and the Ministry of Education after evaluation and deliberation by experts.
Launched in 2011, the Outstanding Cultural Person Talent Project is one of the most important national talent-development projects, supporting and financing outstanding people in the fields of philosophy of social science, journalism and press, broadcast and television, culture and art, and heritage conservation. It also carries out key research, projects and performances.
The Four Talents as a Group Talents Project is a national project to develop outstanding talent, which is jointly launched by CPC's Publicity Department and Organization Departments in 2003. It endeavors to cultivate outstanding theorists, journalists, editors, commentators, hosts, publishers, writers and artists.

Feng, who is entitled to a special allowance from the State Council, was selected as a Yangtze River Scholar by Ministry of Education and a candidate of National Excellent Talents Project in 2012. He was awarded Baogang City’s Excellent Teacher Prize. In 2014, he was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the title of Young Expert with Outstanding Contributions by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
