The ceremony celebrating the 90th anniversary of JNU's College of Foreign Studies was held on Nov. 11. Attending the commemoration were 400 guests, including prestigious scholars in foreign language studies from all over China, deans from other universities, alumni from China and abroad, and teachers and students in the college.

Founded in 1927, the college was formerly known as the Department of Foreign Language and Literature. Many outstanding scholars, including Ye Gongchao, Liang Shiqiu, Qian Zhongshu and Xu Guozhang, have taught in the college. Currently in its golden age of development, the college continues to achieve progress in discipline construction, talent cultivation and team-building, and nurturing talents for the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Prof. Gong Qi, dean of the college, briefly introduced the college's history and development in the last five years. Liao Guoying, president of the college’s Macau Alumni Association; Qiu Li, president of the college’s Alumni Association; and student representative He Linfang expressed their gratitude to the college, as well as their commitment to contributing to JNU's development.
