JNU launched its Overseas Chinese Culture Week on the theme of The Maritime Silk Road and Overseas Chinese on Nov.16. This was the first time Jinan University had held the event, which promoted the history and culture of overseas Chinese and the One Belt and One Road Initiative.

This event was organized by the Overseas Chinese Literature Museum of the Jinan University Library. The museum, established in 2016 during JNU's 110thanniversary celebration, features overseas Chinese literature, education and media. It has received nearly 3,000 volumes of various documents, and its total collection has reached more than 30,000 volumes.
The week included the signing ceremony of the Collection Point of the Overseas Chinese Literature Museum, an exhibition on the Maritime Silk Road and overseas Chinese, a speech about overseas Chinese culture, and a workshop for overseas Chinese freshmen to share how they had found their own identities. Other activities included visits to the Nanhai God Temple and movies.
