Gao Hao and Ma Min, professors in JNU's School of Pharmacy, have been honored as innovative talents in the Chinese Medicine Association's 2017 laureates in scientific and technological achievements and talents, raising JNU to a new high in this field.
Gao is director of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Medicine, director of the Department of Chinese Material Medicine, a member of JNU's Academic Committee and deputy director of Guangdong province key laboratory of traditional Chinese medicine. He has researched the efficacy of Chinese medicinal substances and natural active ingredients; presided over the projects for the National Natural Science Fund of China four times, as well as many provincial and ministerial studies; published more than 100 papers in SCI; been awarded over 10 patents; edited an English monograph; and been the youth editor, standing director and member of SCI and other key journals at provincial, national and international institutes.
Ma has been engaging in teaching, research and development of traditional Chinese and Western medicine with more than 20-years' clinical experience. He has enriched traditional theories of Chinese medicine, developed characteristics of external treatment, and contributed to the modernization and internationalization of Chinese medicine. Ma has been the chief editor of five works, including Chinese Medicine Surgery, Chinese Medicine Health Rehabilitation, and Chinese Medicine Prevention and Rehabilitation Health Care. He has presided over four national research projects and 12 provincial and ministerial research projects.
