A 13-member delegation from the All Party Parliamentary China Group (APPCG) and exam centers authorized by Cambridge English, along with British Deputy Consul General Karen Maddocks in Guangzhou and officers for bilateral relations of the British Embassy in Beijing, visited JNU on Nov. 7. JNU Vice Party Secretary Xia Quan met with the delegation.
Pu Ruoqian, director of JNU's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and Zhao Kai, a staff member of the Jinan University-University of Birmingham Joint Institute at JNU (JNU-BU), discussed communication between Chinese and British education with the delegation. APPCG Vice President Roger Godsiff, who is interested in JNU-BU and highly praised the JNU-BU cooperation mode, came from the University of Birmingham.

Prof. Zou Hongying and Director Han Xiaofang of JNU's College of Foreign Studies briefed the delegation on JNU’s Cambridge English exam center. JNU students and alumni representatives described their study and daily life in JNU and said Cambridge English was especially helpful in improving their personal study and professional development. JNU's College of Foreign Studies is the most important Cambridge English partner in China, with the most Cambridge English examinees in the world. More than 16,000 examinees come to JNU to take various Cambridge English examinations every year.
