Prof. Kazuyuki Motohashi of the University of Tokyo, chief editor of Journal of Pragmatics Research Policy, visited JNU's Zhuhai campus on Nov,8 at the invitation of the International Business School. He conducted exchanges on scientific research cooperation and discipline co-construction with the school.

Motohashi delivered a lecture titled Measuring Science-Based Innovation:New Indicators and Policy Implications, hosted by Dr. Qian Gangyi, director of the school's International Exchange and Cooperation Center. According to Innovation Process Database:2.0, Motohashi first compared and analyzed innovation invention in China, Japan, Europe and the United States from the perspective of patent grants. Then he spoke about how Japan’s policies in various periods affected the development of its scientific and technological innovation system. Finally, he had extensive exchanges with teachers and students.
A world-renowned expert on technological innovation and management, Motohashi is a professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Tokyo; chief editor of Journal of Pragmatics Research Policy (with influence factor 6.265 for five years); and a visiting fellow at the Asia-Pacific Research Center. He has achieved fruitful research results in technological innovation systems and strategy, with more than 100 papers published in SCI and SSCI indexed journals, giving him wide influence in international academia.
