Vietnamese University President Visits JNU

A 13-member delegation from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) visited JNU on Sept. 27, led by VNU President Ruan Jinsheng and including Chen Ruifang, school department leader and director of international affairs for the Sunwah Group. The delegation met with JNU President Hu Jun, members of its board of directors, and representatives of its Development and Planning Department, Human Resources Development and Management Department, Teaching Affairs Office, Graduate School, and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.
The main purpose of the visit was to study JNU's development strategy and ideas for pursuing studies. These two universities shared their views on multi-campus management, school fund-raising, talent introduction policy, enterprise-university-research institute cooperation, school organization structure, cooperation with foreign universities and development of alumni organizations.

VNU was founded in 1906. As the largest comprehensive university and research center in Vietnam, it occupies a special status in the country's advanced education system. It is directly under the jurisdiction of the prime minister and enjoys a high degree of autonomy in talent organization, academic courses, science research, technology development, financial planning, international relations and other fields. In the 2016 Asian university ranking published by QS, VNU entered the top 150 and ranked first in Vietnam.
