JNU Deputy Party Secretary Lin Rupeng led a delegation to the United States, Canada and Japan from Sept. 17 to 26. The delegation visited renowned alumni representatives in the U.S. and Canada and held deep discussions with famous overseas think tanks, top universities and overseas Chinese schools. Topics included think tanks' international development; exchanges of teachers and students in international relations majors; joint cultivation of high-level talents and research; and development of textbooks for overseas Chinese.
The JNU delegation visited think tanks including the Council on Foreign Relations and the Center for International Strategic Studies in the U.S. It met with scholars at world-class universities including George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. and the University of British Columbia in Canada. They reached consensus on scholar exchanges, joint cultivation of high-level talents and hosting international academic meetings.
Delegation members expanded JNU's cooperation relationships with Royal Roads University in Canada and with Sophia University and Tokyo Keizai University in Japan. It also held conferences to examine the current situation of overseas Chinese education with JNU alumni association in the eastern U.S., Huaxia Chinese School and Long Island School of Chinese in the U.S., and the Vancouver alumni association in Canada.
