A seven-member delegation from the Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee of the Republic of Suriname visited Jinan University on Sept. 21. JNU Vice President Liu Jiesheng warmly welcome the delegation, which included Andre Misiekaba, president of the committee and leader of the ruling National Democratic Party, and Chen Yu, president of the Culture and Art Center of Suriname Chinese.
Liu introduced JNU to the delegation, pointing out that the university had placed special emphasis on the exchange and cooperation with South America in recent years, having established an admissions office in Suriname and started enrollment in 2016. It has been popular among Surinamese communities, especially overseas Chinese, enrolling 12 outstanding Surinamese students in the last two years.
Misiekaba presented basic information about Suriname and cooperation with China. He indicated that he would promote JNU in Suriname to allow more students a high-quality education in China.
