The Third Chinese Intelligent Technology and Big Data Conference (CITBD), sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and organized by JNU, was inaugurated at Zhu Jiang Hotel in Guangzhou on Sept. 16. Prof. Fang Binxing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and JNU President Hu Jun spoke.
As the biggest IT event in intelligent technology and big data research in China, the three-day conference registered 179 representatives of 22 provinces, cities and autonomous regions; 67 colleges and universities; 14 scientific research institutions; and thousands of scientific and technical workers, both enterprises and amateurs. Prof. Weng Jian, executive dean of JNU’s School of Information Science and Technology, hosted the opening ceremony.
The conference focuses on many significant issues, including conversational artificial intelligence, database and big data security, medical data mining and commercial application of intelligent technology. Many well-known specialists involved in the conference discussed such questions as the latest academic achievements, development tendency, key technology and main strategy. During the conference, the CAAI’s intelligent service special committee met to develop and absorb new members.

The annual CITBD is a conference series sponsored by the CAAI’s intelligent service special committee. The first conference was held in Beijing in 2015 and the second in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, in 2016.
