Four majors of JNU's Shenzhen Tourism College -- tourism management, hospitality management, golf management and convention-exhibition economy and administration -- have been accredited by UNWTO-TedQual Certification. This four-year accreditation is the highest level of current certification. Tourism management was accredited for the third time, and the other three majors won certification for the first time. The college, which became the first mainland college to have tourism management major accredited by the UNWTO-TedQual System in 2001, again topped the list in the number of majors certified.
The assessment report demonstrates that the College has maintained sound cooperation with both public and private institutions; advanced in talent cultivation, industry-university-research integration and international cooperation; and received much praise from employers and alumni. The college passed certification with 93.37 points out of 100.
The UNWTO-Themis Foundation implements the education and training programs of the World Tourism Organization, with the objective of supporting member states in formulating and implementing educational policies, plans and instruments that contribute effectively to improving the quality, competitiveness and sustainability of the tourism sector.
