Led by Huang Junwu, the landscape architecture design team of JNU's Shenzhen Tourism College submitted the winning bid for "The Surrounding and Landscape Architecture Design Project of Shenzhen University Town," awarded in July. The contract amount of the project is 2,518,900 yuan, the JNU's largest award ever in humanities and social sciences.

The project, sponsored by the Shenzhen government as a municipal investment with a budget of 200 million yuan, is designed to make Shenzhen University China's most comfortable and most humanistic campus. The team won the project design contract with overwhelming advantage through full research in earlier stages, scientific analysis and high-quality design work.

The newly established landscape architecture major reflects the excellent professional quality and design ability of the landscape architecture professionals'team. This major has expanded JNU's influence in the landscape garden industry and highlighted strong competitiveness in the study of tourism management. The project is also an important part of the national education reform project landscape garden comprehensive reform. It combines production, teaching and research through integrating actual projects into the teaching process, and students can gain experience through direct participation in projects.
