The dictionary of the English World Encyclopedia (expanded edition), edited by Prof. Gong Qi of JNU’s College of Foreign Studies, was approved as China's 13th Five-Year Book Key Project. This is JNU’s first national key book project in foreign languages and literature.
According to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, a panel of experts selected 473 projects, including 444 book projects and 29 audiovisual products, from a total of 3,586 projects, including 3,278 book projects and 308 audiovisual products.
The first edition of the English World Encyclopedia, edited by Gong, was published by Beijing Tourism Education Press in 2000. The dictionary’s new edition will be revised and substantially expanded.
